Cordless voice modules – integrated DECT solutions

CVM chip

Our newest cordless voice module (CVM) is a fully encapsulated device and integrates a radio transceiver and baseband with a complete protocol stack in a single package. It enables the easy and cost-effective development of cordless applications and significantly reduces the time-to-market.

The CVM module, with integrated antenna is fully TBR6 / FCC approved, making it suitable for products that are sold worldwide. Furthermore, adopting this approved technology also saves RF and production testing costs.

Cordless voice module (CVM) Development Kit

The cordless voice module Development Kit (SC14CVMDEVKT) comprises portable and fixed components. These connect to computer(s) via the USB port; enabling designers to quickly familiarise themselves with the easy to use AT Command Set and Athena development environment.

The Athena development environment consists of Eclipse and a GNU cross compiler / linker for CR16 – removing the need for an external µController

A world of applications

The module has been certified for use in the EU and US markets with J-DECT certification for the Japanese market being completed soon; this means the module can be designed into devices made for any geographic market.

The cordless voice module integrates protocol stacks and an application interface. This allows designers to develop products without needing an in-depth understanding of the DECT and DECT 6.0 protocols. The encapsulated modules are fully-tested and proven, enabling an exceptionally fast time-to-market, significantly cutting R&D / RF testing costs.

The cordless voice module can be easily incorporated into any customer application - with the same module being used in low and high-end applications. Connection between the CVM and the man-machine-interface is achieved via UART. The cordless voice module’s AT Command Set is suitable for both voice and data applications in addition to the normal cordless software protocol.

As the module supports CAT-iq Version1.0, it gives you the wideband audio experience.
